NeXT-Monitor is a loudspeaker with drivers of Seas . A Passive radiator provides deep bass.

The kit is delivered with the following drivers:
- a Seas 27TBCD/GB-DXT tweeter
- a Seas L16RNX/4 woofer

The loudspeaker has been developed by Alexander Wein.

The crossover consists of:
- a 2nd order high-pass filter (12 dB per octave slope) for the tweeter.
- a 3rd order low-pass filter (18 dB per octave slope) for the woofer.

The frequency response of this speaker is perfectly linear.

The decay spectrum is perfect.

At low volume, i.e. 85 dB at 1 m, the nonlinear distortions are below 0.3% above 300 Hz and doesn't exceed 0.5% at 95 dB at 1 m between 500 Hz and 10000 Hz. That is quite splendid.

Standard and high-end kit contains:

  • Seas 27TBCD/GB-DXT (H1499-06)
  • Seas L16RNX-04 (H1488-04)
  • Seas passive radiator SP18 R (H9944)
  • 0.5x PE sealing tape, 5x2 mm, 7.5 m
  • Damping Sonofil 100 x 35 cm for 20 litres
  • Terminal T105 Au, with brass, gold plated
  • 2m Speaker cable 2x1.5 mm2, transparent
  • 0.5x Pan screws 3.5x17 black, 8 pieces
  • 2x Pan screws 4x20 black, 8 pieces

the strandard kit crossover components, to be mounted on a small wooden board:

  • Audaphon MKP CAP Superior 0.68 μF / 400 Vdc
  • Audaphon MKP CAP Superior 2.7 μF / 400 Vdc
  • Audaphon MKP CAP Superior 8.2 μF / 400 Vdc
  • Audaphon MKT CAP 33 μF / 160 Vdc
  • 1.0 mm air core coil, 0.12 mH/0.15 Ohm
  • 0.7 mm air core coil, 0.18 mH/0.36 Ohm
  • 0.7 mm air core coil, 0.68 mH/0.70 Ohm
  • Audaphon M core coil M12, 1.5 mH/0.16 0hm
  • Metal-oxide resistor, 10W 1.5 Ohm (brown-green-gold)
  • Metal-oxide resistor, 10W 6.8 Ohm (blue-grey-gold)
  • Metal-oxide resistor, 10W 33 Ohm (orange-orange-black)

The high-end kit is delivered with baked varnish air core coils on important parts of the crossover for minimizing microphonic effects. - The current flow through the coil creates a magnetic field which sets the reel of wire in motion. This motion induces a voltage in the coil which adds itself to the signal. The stiffer the reel of wire is, the less the signal will be altered. The capacitors for the fullrange driver are of type polypropylen (MKP) Clarity-Cap PWA 160, ESA 630 and CSA (highest quality).

  • ClarityCap ESA capacitor 0.68 μF / 630 Vdc
  • ClarityCap PWA capacitor 33 μF / 160 Vdc
  • ClarityCap CSA capacitor 2.7 μF / 630 Vdc
  • ClarityCap CSA capacitor 8.2 μF / 630 Vdc
  • Mundorf baked varnish air core coil BL71, 0.18 mH/0.34 Ohm
  • Mundorf baked varnish air core coil BL71, 0.68 mH/0.71 Ohm
  • Mundorf baked varnish air core coil BL100, 0.12 mH/0.15 Ohm
  • Mundorf H core baked varnish coil BH100, 1.5 mH/0.17 0hm
  • Metal-oxide resistor, 10W 1.5 Ohm (brown-green-gold)
  • Metal-oxide resistor, 10W 6.8 Ohm (blue-grey-gold)
